System Tools Explorer — Secure Mode

This page supports two safe modes of operation:

Browser mode (sandboxed): you select a directory and the page lists files. Browsers cannot execute or reveal full system paths without user action.
Desktop mode (Electron): when embedded in a trusted Electron app with a secure preload bridge, the page can request the main process to perform privileged actions (strictly gated by a whitelist).

Notes: Browser mode is intentionally limited by design. If you want me to generate a secure Electron main/preload example (with whitelist enforcement), say so and specify the whitelist rules.

Advanced features:

Recursive directory traversal (depth-limited to avoid runaway scans).
Regex search/filter, name-based executable heuristics, CSV export, and client-side sorting.
Electron bridge support hooks (window.electronAPI) — no privileged code is executed from the renderer.

Developer Hints

• To enable Launch/Reveal, provide a preload that exposes electronAPI.launch(path) and electronAPI.reveal(path).
• The main process must validate/whitelist paths before execFile. Never exec arbitrary user-supplied strings.
